Two Years and Counting

I have made two important commitments in my life. The first being my commitment to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the One who sits on the throne as King of my life. I have committed to die to my flesh daily in order to give Him free reign. I have committed to be faithful to Him, to do all that he asks of me, and to go wherever He desires for me to go. He is the single most important being in my life, and I will continually thank Him and praise Him for His love and His goodness and grace for as long as I live. The second most important commitment I have made is to my husband. It was two years ago today that I said my vows to him, and I am so very glad I did. My husband is the most precious gift God has ever given to me. He is the greatest friend I have ever known. His love for me reminds me so much of Jesus’ love for me. He loves me unconditionally… no matter how much I fail him, he will always love me just as much as he did before. I am simply amazed at how much he cherishes me, and I find myself so unworthy to receive such love and adoration. I thank God so much for this gift of my husband, and I have promised to cherish him as a gift for the rest of my life. I want to always love him just as Jesus loves him. Just as Jesus is faithful to him, I want to be faithful to him. Just as Jesus forgives him, I want to forgive him. Just as Jesus humbled Himself and lifted him up, I want to humble myself and lift him up. Just as Jesus prays for him, I want to pray for him. Just as Jesus gave up all rights for him, I want to give up all rights for him. I pray that with God’s help I will be able to daily fulfill these things and be the best wife for him, as he is the greatest husband to me.
