Beach Day!

I am so happy that the June gloomy clouds have rolled back and the summer sun has come out to play! This Saturday was the perfect beach day, and of course everyone else thought so too... so after an hour of searching for a parking space, we made it to the beach! Finally a chance to (attempt to) bronze my pale skin!

Showering gifts upon toddlers and brides

My weekend consisted of driving, taking photos, filming, eating, and spending time with family members I love.

Where I drove: 6 hours north to the bay area.
What I photographed/filmed: the birthday party of my cousin Emilee's two year old son, and the bridal shower of my cousin Madeline.
What I ate: during the drive it was mainly chex mix, cheez-its, and coffee... but once I got to my destination the yummy teryaki chicken, rice, and salad entered my body. Then the next day at the bridal shower was the delicious carne asada tacos.
Who I spent time with: My mom and sister during the entire trip, my aunt Shannon and my 3 cousins Emilee, Alyson, and Madeline, Emilee's husband Justin and her son Isaac, and some other people that I am not related to.

Marriage and Food

A few weekends ago me and Jake shot the wedding of a couple from CCCM...

It was short and sweet, we didn't go on any excursions to get romantic shots of the couple or anything (that part is my favorite!!). The couple just wanted it simple.

My favorite part of this wedding was definitely the reception. We went to Sam Woo and had a fourteen course meal... I will repeat that in case you didn't catch it... fourteen courses! I was 100% full by course number four. Here are some of them... (why can't I get rid of this underline? thats annoying...)
These tasted very good... but they were like rubber. It felt like I was eating an eraser.

I had to tear these shrimps bodies apart in order the eat them... that was pretty weird. I don't know if I have ever had to tear my prey apart to eat it before. I ripped their heads off, then theirs legs... and then I ate their insides.... yeah, it tasted pretty good.

I love being an assistant photographer at weddings because Jake is so good at telling people what to do in photos... like positioning them and making them feel comfortable and making them laugh... and then I get to just sneak in there like a secret agent and shoot them and they don't even know I am there! Its very fun... maybe with time I will build enough confidence to direct people and be a self sufficient photographer, but for now I am having fun not doing that (sometimes I do though with just the girls in the bride's room... like the 1st photo in this post) Here are some of my favorite sneaky shots in weddings past...

so much kissing! sheesh...
