Missionary Husband

Jake left with a team for American Samoa yesterday to help out with disaster relief following the Tsunami that hit on 9/29. The team is staying at Calvary Chapel of Samoa in Pago Pago. They are ministering to the people of Samoa by clearing as much debris as possible, and will continue to do so until they return on 10/23. I miss my husband terribly already, but I am doing good... the Lord is faithful to always be with me, so I am definitely not alone while my husband is faithfully serving. Please remember to keep the team, and the people of Samoa in your prayers... May God be glorified in every aspect of the trip.

Here are some pictures from the trip so far...

I like to send Jake pictures while he is gone... either of myself so he doesn't forget what I look like, or I just document whatever I am doing... it really keeps me occupied, and its a lot fun to get creative. I thought I would share with you some of the fun I have been having with my iphone camera since he's been gone...

Love is in the Air

My brother is married!! It happened on Saturday October 10th and I couldn't be happier. Jake and I weren't their photographers (they wanted us to just enjoy it instead of working) but we got to snag some shots anyway!

my husband was a groomsman... isn't he handsome? ; )

We were also supposed to go to our friends Daniel and Mercedes' wedding the next day, but we did this instead...

We were so sad to miss it but the Lord knows better than us... who knows, maybe we would have gotten in a horrific accident on the way there and He was protecting us. Anyway, congrats to both couples!

M&M

This weekend I had the privilege of flying out to Florida to witness the wedding of my good friend Marah to her husband Michael! It was so good to be able to go and spend time with friends I don't get to see often, and to be a part of such a beautiful event as this. It would be so nice if we all lived closer and could be together often, but it makes it even more special when we get to see each other the few times that we do.

Before their wedding day they had never kissed. I think that is so special! I got to be there to witness the first time, and even captured a picture of it! Congratulations Marah and Michael! I am so happy for you and cannot wait to see where the Lord leads the two of you throughout your marriage.

Two Years and Counting

I have made two important commitments in my life. The first being my commitment to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the One who sits on the throne as King of my life. I have committed to die to my flesh daily in order to give Him free reign. I have committed to be faithful to Him, to do all that he asks of me, and to go wherever He desires for me to go. He is the single most important being in my life, and I will continually thank Him and praise Him for His love and His goodness and grace for as long as I live. The second most important commitment I have made is to my husband. It was two years ago today that I said my vows to him, and I am so very glad I did. My husband is the most precious gift God has ever given to me. He is the greatest friend I have ever known. His love for me reminds me so much of Jesus’ love for me. He loves me unconditionally… no matter how much I fail him, he will always love me just as much as he did before. I am simply amazed at how much he cherishes me, and I find myself so unworthy to receive such love and adoration. I thank God so much for this gift of my husband, and I have promised to cherish him as a gift for the rest of my life. I want to always love him just as Jesus loves him. Just as Jesus is faithful to him, I want to be faithful to him. Just as Jesus forgives him, I want to forgive him. Just as Jesus humbled Himself and lifted him up, I want to humble myself and lift him up. Just as Jesus prays for him, I want to pray for him. Just as Jesus gave up all rights for him, I want to give up all rights for him. I pray that with God’s help I will be able to daily fulfill these things and be the best wife for him, as he is the greatest husband to me.
